    Rev. Dr. Allen Churchill

The Rev. Dr. Allen D. Churchill has been a pastor and teacher in The United Church of Canada for the past forty years. He is a native of Perth, Ontario, and served in the R.C.M.P. for five years before receiving his call to the Christian ministry. Dr. Churchill is a graduate of the university of Toronto, of the University of Western Ontario, and of Oxford University in England where he qualified for a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He is an author of two books, numerous published articles, and recently contributed a major essay to an anthology on the Holy Trinity, which was published in 2002.

Dr. Churchill began serving the church in Western Canada, was later the senior minister of St. Andrew's United Church in Chatham, Ontario for eight years, St. Giles United Church in Hamilton for five years, and retired in 2000 after sixteen years as senior minister of Dominion-Chalmers United Church in Ottawa. He is a noted speaker and is continuously in demand.

Dr. Churchill chaired the local committee for the Billy Graham Mission of 1998 in the national capital region. During Holy Week 2004, he spoke twice daily for Mission Ottawa/Outaouais, an organization that evolved from local churches and pastors coming together in preparation for the 1998 Crusade.

Dr. Churchill is the founder and dean of The Ottawa Summer School of Biblical and Theological Studies, which has been offering sound theological continuing education for ministers and lay persons of all denominations for sixteen years.

Since 1999 Dr. Churchill has broadcast on CFRA radio (580 AM) Ottawa each Sunday morning, from 2010 to 2012 partnering with Rev. Don Crisp, on his programme "GOOD NEWS IN THE MORNING" now with some 7,000 listeners. In 2012 Don died of cancer, at which point the four preachers from local churches joined us to continue the ministry.

Dr. Churchill has three grown children, and following the death of his first wife, Helen, married Alma Carter, a professional musician from Chatham, Ontario. After pastoring the Bathurst charge (Calvin and Althorpe United Churches) for eight years, Allen retired in June, 2011. They now reside at R.7,#46,Box 184, Rideau Ferry, Ontario, K0G 1WO.

It is their privilege to continue to serve the Lord as he leads and guides.
